THE VISION
Idakatherine’s art brings to life the human experience with two related collections – HEAVEN & EARTH and HUMAN CARTOGRAPHY. Together they create an immersive experience of paintings, short films, original scores, and animated images that envelop visitors as they move through the installation.
HEAVEN & EARTH
SPACE ONE
As visitors enter Space 1, a darkened room with a luminously lit Heaven & Earth, they will hear an original score composed by a Grammy award winning musician – creating a sense of place and peace as they move towards the maps of life to come.

CREATION
SPACE THREE
Visitors enter a separate, more intimate space with seating to view two time lapse, musically scored videos of the artist creating two major pieces – Greed and Fear & Mercy
Visitors will exit to a 5th space, A Treasure Room, with limited merchandise for sale and small original paintings and drawings
All the Treasure Room pieces are works on paper half a foot square

THE ARTIST
Idakatherine was raised in southeast Texas by her classically-trained artist parents. Art was the family religion. She moved west to Santa Fe for college, and then further west to the Arizona desert.
Idakatherine’s classical training as well as her organic growth in a family of artists, her love of stories, and the life and death struggles of her mind and body create the platform from which she imagines life.
Through her paintings and installations, she has shared these human experiences and invited others to reflect deeply on the human experience - in museums, galleries, and collections across the country.
